Marc Shemmans was born in Birmingham, England in 1971, the child of Tony and Kathleen. It was at the tender age of ten that he discovered dark fiction and it was from that moment on that he began writing short stories and poetry.

In 1990 he met his future wife Joanne Shemmans, who was to prove a major source of inspiration and support for his work. A fellow horror enthusiast, she was also a writer. They married in 1993 at 21 years old and in 1997, they had their only child Marc Peter.

In 2002, his first published story 'The Last Bus' appeared in Graveyard Rendezvous. Since then, more of his work has appeared in 'The Horror Express', 'Waxing and Waning' and many anthologies.

The inspiration for his fiction comes from life experience. He reads many authors and names the likes of Graham Masterton and Dean Koontz as major influences. He is currently working on two novels, one which is a collaboration with writer Kevin Etheridge.
